Gift Ideas for the Tween & Teen Scientist

science

The holidays are closely approaching and educational gifts are one of my favorites. Here a list of super geeky gifts for your tween or teen.

Logan received his first telescope last year; he is loving exploring the night sky. Celestron 127EQ PowerSeeker Telescope is reasonable priced and a perfect starter telescope.

If your scientist wants to know about the latest & greatest in the world of science then I suggest getting them a subscription to Popular Science.

For the zoologist National Geographic Kids is a gift they will receive all year long.

If your looking for Science Kits then Science Wiz Kits are a perfect choice.

Sophia is fascinated with all things tech and last Christmas we bought her first Snap Circuits Extreme 750 with Computer Interface. Here’s a list of some sample projects:

  • laser gun
  • pencil alarm
  • race game
  • light-controlled ‘space war’ sounds
  • lie detector
  • Morse Code generator
  • mind-reading game
  • record and playback

One of my favorites is the Smithsonian Crystal Growing Kit. There are easy to follow instructions and a log book to keep detail all of your crystals growth.

Please share some your favorite science gifts below!

  1. I bought my oldest daughter a really good microscope last year and all my kids use it. It’s great to give the kids something they can learn from and have fun at the same time.
